Fire Department

To protect lives and property of the citizens and visitors of Colorado City and Mitchell County through emergency response, education and prevention.

CCVFD Information:
The Colorado City Fire Department was established in 1883 and is a combination department serving Colorado City and a majority of Mitchell County. The department is a fully volunteer department, supported by 30 volunteers who give their time selflessly to serve the community. The FD has one main station and one sub-station housing a 95' ladder truck, 3 pumper's, 2 tankers, several brush trucks and various other support vehicles. The department puts a strong emphasis on training, both in house and by regularly sending firefighters to various area schools and the Texas A&M Municipal School in July.

Burn Permits
Burn permits are required and can only be obtained from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
Failure to notify the Police Department of any outdoor burning may result in citation.
