Intersection of 13th and Eastover now a 4-Way Stop

As the start of school approaches, the City is working to make sure that students and staff that walk to school, journey is safer.
Since the addition of the Elementary and Middle School Campus to the east side of town, the number of pedestrians walking to the campus has increased.
Two additional stop signs were added to Eastover Street, at the corner of 13th.  Staff and students often enter the school from 13th, as it is less congested then 10th Street, and therefore, safer for pedestrians.
The additional stop signs will force drivers to stop and slow down as they approach the school, giving walkers extra time to make it across the street safely.
The Colorado City Police Department has already begun to patrol the area and plans to be extra vigilant during the upcoming school year.
